West of Scotland Inter-Agency Child Protection Procedures

A new website has been introduced this month that hosts the West of Scotland Child Protection Procedures in a more accessible format. The procedures are now ‘mobile friendly’ and sections can be printed off if required. You can also register for updates to get notification straight to your e-mail box.

Practitioner Portfolio on Working with Resistance

This portfolio has been developed by West of Scotland Child Protection Consortium and endorsed by Inverclyde Child Protection Committee. It aims to support staff to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young people where there is parental resistance, non-engagement or non-compliance.

The Scottish Government have published a revised definition of Child Sexual Exploitation with an accompanying practitioner briefing.

Annual Report and Business Plan Published

The Child Protection Committee has published their Annual Report for 2015/16 and Business plan for 2016/17. The attached report describes how Inverclyde Child Protection Committee fulfilled its functions of continuous improvement, strategic planning, public information and communication during 2015-2016. The report demonstrates that Inverclyde Child Protection Committee has delivered their core functions and progressed with key priority areas during 2015/16. This has been achieved through the work carried out by the CPC itself, various subgroups and short life working groups and the actions of individual members and the agencies they represent.
